According to reports, the suspect confronted his 26 year old wife, Mercyline Mahembe, during a domestic dispute. The situation quickly escalated, and he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot her three times, hitting her in the face, hand, and thigh.

He then reportedly shot his sister in law in the leg before injuring a shopkeeper who was nearby.

The three victims were rushed to Chipinge District Hospital, where they are receiving treatment and are said to be in stable condition.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a silver Toyota Fortuner with South African registration plates and remains at large.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt and is appealing to the public for any information that may lead to his arrest. Authorities have warned that he should be treated as armed and dangerous.

The incident has raised fresh concern over domestic violence and the illegal possession of firearms, especially involving individuals returning from outside the country.
