Zimbabwe Strengthens Ties with Iran and Ghana as New Ambassadors Present Credentials

Harare – President Emmerson Mnangagwa today received credentials from two newly appointed ambassadors, marking a significant step in Zimbabwe’s diplomatic engagement efforts.

H.E. Mr Amir Hossein Hosseini, Ambassador-Designate of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and H.E. Mr Bonaventure Adjavor, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Ghana, presented their letters of credence at State House this morning.

In their remarks, both ambassadors reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Zimbabwe.

Ambassador Hosseini emphasised the strong historical ties between Zimbabwe and Iran, grounded in mutual respect and shared international goals. He revealed that plans are underway to revive the local tractor manufacturing company and begin domestic production of medicines initiatives aimed at boosting Zimbabwe’s industrial capacity and health sector.

Ambassador Adjavor described Zimbabwe and Ghana as “family,” advocating for stronger trade ties between the two nations. He stressed the importance of leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and improving transport infrastructure to lower the cost of trade across the continent
