The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed it will surrender controversial musician Malloti to South African authorities if a formal extradition request is made. Malloti, also known as Millicent Chimonyo, is wanted in connection with a 2017 armed robbery in Western Cape, South Africa.
ZRP spokesperson Paul Nyathi said they are awaiting official communication from their South African counterparts, adding that Zimbabwe will cooperate fully once the necessary processes are completed. "We are part of international law enforcement organizations, and we will not hesitate to hand over Malloti if the due process is followed," Nyathi said.
The South African National Prosecuting Authority has engaged Interpol to track Malloti, and the ZRP is ready to cooperate. Nyathi warned that criminals cannot hide from the law, regardless of their location.
