Tawanda Maswanhise, a young football player from Zimbabwe, has been recognized as one of the most promising talents at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Although he didn't play in all of Zimbabwe's matches, Maswanhise impressed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with his skills.
Maswanhise scored a great solo goal against South Africa in the final group game. He also helped set up Zimbabwe's second goal. Despite only starting one match and making a brief appearance against Egypt, Maswanhise caught the attention of CAF.
The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) congratulated Maswanhise on his achievement. They said, "You are not just making history, you are inspiring it. Zimbabwe couldn’t be prouder." However, some fans were unhappy with the team's coach, Marian Marinica, for not giving Maswanhise more playing time.
