The story of Mary and Lucy Aylmer from England, born to Vince (white) and Donna (half Jamaican half white) captured hearts worldwide. 

Non identical their unique appearance was evident from the start. Lucy had straight red hair, bright blue eyes and fair skin, while Maria had warm brown eyes, curly black hair and deep brown skin.

Their distinct genetic combinations make their birth a rare 'genetic lottery' phenomenon. 

Images of the two went viral in 2015 becoming an overnight sensation sparking debate, wonder and admiration.
