Prominent Zimbabwean preacher Walter Magaya is facing a severe financial crisis, with multiple properties set to be auctioned off to settle debts totalling millions of dollars. The auction, scheduled for February 27, 2026, follows a High Court order for Magaya to repay US$3 million to Israeli businessman Ronny Aharon Musan Levi, plus interest.

Magaya's properties, including a six-bedroom house in Harare's Prospect suburb, are being sold to settle a debt with Getbucks Microfinance Bank, which has been pursuing repayment of US$420,140.72 since June 2025. The bank alleges Magaya has frustrated efforts to recover the debt, declaring he has no assets.

The auction comes after Justice Maxwell Takuva's ruling that Magaya must repay Levi US$3 million, plus interest, for a failed mining investment. The court criticized Magaya's conduct, stating it "stands in stark and troubling contrast" to his public profile.

Magaya's financial troubles are compounded by separate legal issues, including rape charges involving adult congregants. His company, Planet Africa (Private) Limited, previously entered voluntary corporate rescue proceedings to avoid collapse .
