A Harare magistrate has granted bail to an alleged fraudster accused of forging company documents to sell a property valued at US$1.9 million. Brian Ncube appeared before Harare magistrate Jessie Kufa, who granted him US$300 bail.

The complainant, Youssof Abduraman, is the owner of a residential stand along George Walker Drive, which is held under a title deed belonging to Countervest Investments Pvt Ltd. Abduraman reportedly came across an advert on social media offering the property for sale, which was allegedly posted by Ncube and his accomplice, Simbarashe Tamayi .

The State alleges that Ncube forged company documents to change the directorship and shareholding of Countervest Investments Pvt Ltd to his and Tamayi's names. The documents were submitted to the Registrar of Companies office, and the complainant reported the matter to the police, leading to Ncube's arrest.

The complainant suffered a potential prejudice of US$1.9 million. The case has been adjourned, and Ncube is set to appear in court again .
