Police in Mutare and Macheke have arrested two suspects for unlawful possession of dangerous drugs and cough syrups. Johannes Ndarowa was nabbed at a Sakubva car park with dagga and various cough syrups, while Ivan Gombere was arrested along the Macheke-Murewa road with a similar haul, as authorities enforce a zero-tolerance stance on drug and substance abuse.
According to the police, Ndarowa (41) was arrested on December 30, 2025, at a car park in Sakubva for unlawful possession of dagga, Broncleer Cough Syrup, Astra Pain Cough Syrup, and Benylin Cough Syrup. The second suspect, Gombere (36), was arrested at the three-kilometer peg along the Macheke-Murewa Road for unlawful possession of dagga and similar cough syrups. Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel
The government has declared zero tolerance on drugs and substance abuse, coordinating a multi-sectoral response to tackling the vice that is plaguing many communities.
