The High Court in Gweru has delivered a verdict in a murder case involving an 18-year-old defendant, Samson Simbarashe Tichagwa. Tichagwa has been found guilty of murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The incident occurred on Christmas night, December 25, 2025, in the Chief Gobo area of Silobela.
According to court details, Tichagwa and the 55-year-old victim were socializing when a heated argument erupted. The situation escalated, and Tichagwa kicked and repeatedly struck the victim with a white steel chair while he was defenseless on the ground. Despite a neighbor's attempt to intervene, Tichagwa continued his violent behavior, and the victim ultimately died while waiting for transport to the hospital.
The court found Tichagwa guilty of murder and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. The judiciary emphasized its commitment to justice and protecting the sanctity of human life.
