Steven Gerrard has expressed mixed feelings about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid. Speaking on _Rio Ferdinand Presents_, Gerrard said, “Without my Liverpool hat on, I understand it. Real Madrid is a huge club, and maybe he wants a new challenge.” However, wearing his Liverpool hat, he questioned, “What are you doing? You’re winning European Cups and adored by fans.”
Gerrard called the move a “big risk” for Trent, praising him as “one of the best passers I’ve ever seen,” comparing him to Beckham and Scholes. “I wouldn’t have done it,” Gerrard admitted, “but I hope it works for him.”
He also lauded Paul Scholes as “the best midfielder in the Premier League if he played now” and described Wayne Rooney as “the best player I played with for England, hands down,” highlighting Rooney’s versatility as an attacker.
