President Emmerson Mnangagwa has commenced his month-long annual leave, effective December 23, 2025, and will spend the holiday period in Zimbabwe, the government announced. According to a statement by Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidential Communications George Charamba, Vice President Kembo Mohadi will act as President from December 23 to December 31, while Vice President Constantino Chiwenga will take over from January 1 to January 13, 2026. Mohadi will then resume acting duties from January 14 until President Mnangagwa returns to work in early February.

"His Excellency the President has started his month-long annual vacation from today and will spend it in the country," Charamba said
