GOKWE – In a landmark move to bridge the digital divide in Zimbabwe’s education sector, POSB Bank has donated solar kits and US20,000 to seven rural schools across four districts: Gokwe, Chipinge, Bindura, and Bubi.

The event, graced by the Honorable Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Torerayi Moyo, highlighted the crucial role of public-private partnerships in transforming education, especially in underserved communities.

Prof Moyo commended POSB for its commitment to rural development and digital empowerment, stating that the donation would “unlock access to digital tools that have long been out of reach for many rural learners.”

The solar kits are expected to enable consistent access to electricity in off-grid schools, facilitating the use of digital learning resources and improving the overall educational experience.

“This initiative marks a significant step towards inclusive education, where no learner is left behind due to geography,” said Prof Moyo.

The donation reflects POSB’s broader commitment to social investment and development, with the goal of creating equitable learning opportunities across Zimbabwe.
