Two men and a teenager were arrested earlier this week for allegedly robbing a woman of US$8 in Mabelreign, Harare. The suspects, Motion Garisai (16), Edmore Garisai (39), and Christian Obey Keresai (25), all from Westlea, were arrested and appeared in court on the same day.
According to police, the trio targeted a 19-year-old woman, Tariro, as she walked along Stoney Road towards Mabelreign Shops. The suspects allegedly blocked her path, and Motion grabbed her and forcibly took her black sling bag. Tariro managed to break free and immediately alerted Takudzwa Marambo, who, with the help of other residents, tracked down the suspects and recovered the stolen bag.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the arrests, saying, "Police arrested three men for robbery in Mabelreign. We continue to warn anyone involved in criminal activities that the law will catch up with them. Members of the public are urged to report any criminal activities in their community."
