'I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, using it as an outlet to express the emotions and thoughts that swirled inside my head. Over time, it has evolved into passion that brings me joy and fulfilment," with a contagious smile to her tone.

So down to earth, Calley took us through her creative journey beautifully playing with words, holding us hostage.Quite a humble soul we fell to stockholm.

"Poetry is more than just words on paper; it's an emotional release, a cathartic experience that allows me to tap into my deepest feelings. When I'm writing I feel like I'm channeling my emotions, thoughts and experiences into a vessel that can be shared with others.

"The rush of creativity is exhilarating and the words flow effortlessly. It's as if my heart is speaking directly to the page.

"When I recite, I feel like I'm home. The words transport me to a place of vulnerability, where I can be my true self. Emotions swell and my voice becomes a reflection of my soul," she said seemingly drifting while kidnapping us with visions of her creativity.

Who wouldn't be drifted with such calm and composure, Calley owned the space.

"Poetry has become an integral part of who I am. It's my way of processing life, expressing love, joy, pain and everything in between.

"When I'm writing or reciting a poem, I feel alive, connected to something greater than myself."

It's an overwhelming feeling, but in the best possible way. I feel seen, heard and understood," this was her moment of introspection.

Reciting poetry is a different story altogether and Callie has drawn inspiration from renowned poet Mambo Guramatunhu.

'I have been inspired by the likes of Mambo Guramatunhu whose  powerful words have spoken to me in moments of struggle. I am also drawn to the works of local poets who weave together tales of culture, identity and resilience," she said.
