The plane had been en route from Deka Airstrip in Hwange before the incident unfolded at Kazungula.
When this reporter arrived at the scene, the aircraft was found overturned, resting on its roof.
Critical components had been covered to protect them from rain, and the area around the wreckage was cordoned off.
David Huntley Jnr, the pilot’s son who was present at the airstrip, confirmed that his father sustained only minor leg injuries.
He explained that the aircraft overturned as his father attempted to brake during landing.
Huntley was taken to a local hospital were he is receiving medical attention.
