Murehwa Woman Jailed 26 Months for Sexual Offence Involving 14-Year-Old Boy

The arrest of a 24-year-old woman from Murehwa, who was involved in a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old boy, has shocked the local community. She was sentenced to 26 months in prison.

According to the Zimcelebs online page, her sentence was handed down by the Murehwa Regional Magistrates Court following the events of 14 February 2026, when the woman visited the boy's home. While at the victim's residence, she spent time with him and his brother watching videos, before following the victim into a room, where the sexual encounter took place.

The woman is believed to have used force and threats against the victim, leading to the encounter, which was later ruled as rape. The situation came to light on 27 February 2026, when the victim noticed unusual signs on his genitals and reported his health concerns to his father. After being questioned by his father, the victim disclosed the incident involving the woman. Without hesitation, the father reported the matter to the police, leading to the woman's arrest.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of protecting minors from exploitation and encourage communities to report any suspected offences against children to ensure justice is served.
