The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of 41-year-old Vengesai Jabulani Mutasa in connection with the murder of businessman Joseph Mutangadura and a brazen attack on police officers.
Mutasa allegedly shot and killed Constable Courage Muchechesi at Sanyati Police Station and also injured Detective Constable Ngwenya, who was part of the team investigating Mutangadura's murder.
After the shooting, Mutasa reportedly robbed Abraham Mayavo of $5 while Mayavo was attempting to file a report at the police station.
The police appreciate the swift action of the public in Sanyati, Kadoma, Chakari, and Patchway, who assisted in apprehending the suspect.
