Wolves midfielder Marshall Munetsi has revealed that he currently has no relationship with Warriors coach Marian Marinica, as the two have yet to meet in person. Marinica left Munetsi out of the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a decision that sparked controversy.

Munetsi later claimed there was a hidden agenda behind his exclusion from the tournament, arguing that his injury was not serious and believing he should have been included in the squad. However, ZIFA defended the coach's decision, maintaining that Munetsi was ruled out purely on medical grounds. Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel

Speaking in an interview with Robert Marawa on Netflix's AFCON Daily Show, Munetsi said: "Since he was appointed as the national team coach, we haven't spoken much. We only had one conversation over the phone, but I've never really met him in person. So, I can't say there is a relationship at the moment because we haven't worked together."

When asked whether it felt strange, as the Warriors' vice-captain, to have so little interaction with the coach, Munetsi added: "Obviously, you would have wanted things to work out in a different way, but sometimes only God knows why. As a senior player, you would know that your experience could have added value, but at the end of the day, there are decisions you may not be able to change."

Munetsi's future at Wolves is uncertain amid reports he may return to the French top flight.
