Mashonaland West Province is buzzing with progress, earning its title as the best province in the West. With a focus on key sectors like mining, energy, and manufacturing, the province has completed 176 devolution-funded projects, transforming infrastructure and boosting economic growth.
From clinics to schools, and water schemes to roads, the province is investing in its future. The Harare-Chirundu Highway widening project is a major milestone, with 16km completed. Over 1,100km of roads have been maintained and rehabilitated, connecting communities and driving commerce.
Job creation is also getting a boost, with over 1,560 jobs generated from projects like David Whitehead Textiles and energy generation. The province's economy is thriving, growing 5.2% during NDS1, driven by mining (25.5%) and agriculture (16.9%).
Minister Hon Marian Chombo is optimistic about the province's future, citing streamlined governance and inter-ministerial coordination as key drivers of success. With 14 LED plans, updated valuation rolls and Master Plans in place SMEs are getting the support they need to flourish
