A 35-year-old man from Plumtree, Spazamu Dube, has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly attacking his estranged wife, Shamiso Tshuma, over a dispute regarding lobola refund. Dube appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware at Plumtree Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody until January 9.
According to court documents, the incident occurred when Dube confronted Tshuma at Ndutshwa Village in Plumtree, demanding the return of the lobola money he had paid to her family. A misunderstanding ensued, and Dube allegedly struck Tshuma with open hands, prompting her to file a police report and leading to his arrest
