Former CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe is set to be appointed the new Triangle United FC head coach, according to sources. Chitembwe is one of three coaches shortlisted for the role, alongside Joey Antipas and Thomas Ruzive.

Triangle United are looking for a new coach after the departure of Genesis Mangombe, who recently joined Dynamos. According to a source close to the club, Chitembwe has emerged as the favorite and is expected to be unveiled as the new head coach this week. Chitembwe is currently unattached, having parted ways with CAPS United in December, where he served as technical director.

Chitembwe boasts a lengthy coaching career, highlighted by winning the 2016 Premier Soccer League title with CAPS United. He also guided the Harare giants to a memorable CAF Champions League campaign, reaching the group stages.

Meanwhile, sources suggest that two former CAPS United players, Nyasha Chintuli and Jayden Bakari, arrived in Triangle on Tuesday evening ahead of possible moves to the club. The duo is understood to have been recommended by Chitembwe, having previously worked under him .
