Infrastructure development in Chipinge District is gaining momentum, with ongoing road rehabilitation and bridge construction projects improving access to health services, education, and trade. The reconstruction of the Nyaunhombo Bridge in Chipinge East is underway after it was washed away by floods earlier this year. This bridge is a critical link to Chikore Mission Hospital, Chikore High School, and surrounding communities that often struggle with isolation during the rainy season.

Another bridge over the Muswirizi River has been completed, restoring movement along key routes previously disrupted by flooding. The project is expected to ease transport, improve access to clinics and markets, and support local trade. Beyond connectivity, the works have created short-term employment opportunities for local youths, some of whom are gaining practical construction skills.

Residents have welcomed progress on the Chipinge-Mt Selinda Road, a strategic 35-kilometer route connecting the district to neighboring regions and the Mt Selinda Border Post. While construction is ongoing, communities are urging faster completion due to weather-related delays. Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Lincoln Dhliwayo, said the road rehabilitation is historic, marking the first major resurfacing since 1980.

He noted that once completed, the project will help commercialize the Mt Selinda Border Post, decongest the Forbes Border Post, and reduce the distance between Beira and South Africa by nearly 300 kilometers. These developments form part of the government's broader infrastructure drive under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, with similar road works ongoing in other districts as infrastructure is positioned as a key driver of socio-economic growth
