Jaison Muvevi, a suspect accused of killing four people during a shooting in Hwedza in January 2023, will now stand trial on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. The trial was postponed due to unresolved issues between the defense and prosecution, despite doctors declaring him mentally fit to stand trial, according to Diamond FM News Online.

Muvevi had spent months at the Chikurubi Psychiatric Unit undergoing mental evaluation before being cleared to face trial. He faces multiple charges, including murder and attempted murder.

The victims of the incident include police officer Inspector Maxwell Hove, Nyarai Round, Chrispen Kanerusine, and bartender Munashe Majani.
