Hwange Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl

A 63-year-old man from Hwange has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of raping a 12-year-old Grade 6 pupil. The attack took place on the evening of July 25, 2025, at a residence within Chief Nekatambe’s jurisdiction.

According to reports, the man entered the girl’s bedroom and forced her into sexual intercourse, undressing her in the process. The assault was interrupted when the girl’s brother, hearing suspicious noises, discovered the act and intervened.

Following the incident, the victim confided in her mother, which led to the arrest of the perpetrator.
