Guruve Man Arrested For Assaulting Daughter Over Allegations Of Promiscuity

A 55-year-old man from Guruve has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his 17-year-old daughter with a switch after a video of the attack surfaced online. The assault is said to have been triggered by allegations of immorality and abandoning her child at a local lodge.

In the video, the father is seen holding a log while confronting his daughter, whose body is wrapped in sacks, leaving only her torso visible. He then breaks the log in two and uses it to strike her back as she screams, denying the allegations of infidelity.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the arrest of Justin Changa, 55, of Mizika Village under Chief Chipuririro, Guruve, along with an accomplice, 28-year-old Blessed Changa, in connection with the incident.  Follow & Share Our WhatsApp Channel

Police said: "Reference is made to the ZRP message posted on the X platform concerning an assault incident in which the suspect is seen seriously assaulting his daughter. The ZRP confirms the arrest of Justin Changa (55) of Mizika Village, under Chief Chipuririro, Guruve, and Blessed Changa (28) in connection with the assault incident."

The police added that investigations established that the suspects allegedly assaulted the complainant following accusations of infidelity and alleged neglect of her one-year-old child at a private lodge
