Zimbabweans are being warned about a surge in human trafficking scams targeting job seekers. Criminal syndicates are lusing people with false promises of lucrative jobs in countries like South Africa, Oman, and the UAE, only to trap them in forced labour, domestic servitude, or sexual exploitation.

Be cautious of agents who demand large fees, refuse refunds, or provide vague job details. Other red flags include contracts in unfamiliar languages, promises of instant wealth, or unverifiable office addresses. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Trafficking can happen within Zimbabwe's borders, too. Stay vigilant and report suspicious activity.
