South Africa's, Pitso Mosimane is rumoured to be one of the top contenders for the Zimbabwe Warriors coaching position.

Following Michael Nees's dismissal, ZIFA advertised the coaching post and Mosimane's name has been frequently mentioned due to his impressive track record.

The rumours have sparked controversy, given the rivalry between Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Mosimane's reputation as a seasoned coach with a proven track record is undeniable. He has won major titles in Africa, including CAF with Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The other side of the camp deem him as the perfect  candidate to lead the Warriors to success citing his vast experience and tactical acumen. With players like Katsande and Bunjira endorsing him.

However, others are gravely concerned about potential conflicts of interest, given Mosimane's heritage and the upcoming match between Zimbabwe and South Africa in the AFCON group stage.

Despite these concerns there is no concrete evidence to suggest Mosimane  would prioritise national interests over his coaching duties.

His past statements and actions indicate utmost respect for Zimbabbwean players.

Ultimately whether Mosimane is a friend or foe remains to be seen. His performance and loyalty will be under scrutiny, particularly in the match against South Africa.

If appointed he will face pressure to deliver results and build a strong team dynamic which could potentially outweigh any national allegiances.

With AFCON finals approaching, the Warriors can't afford any missteps in their preparation.
