Kariba - A devastating incident occurred at King's Fishing Camp in Kariba on the night of October 20, 2025. Elton Mola, a resident of the area, was trampled by an elephant while sleeping outside his house due to the hot weather and excessive drinking.
According to eyewitnesses, the elephant attacked Mola, causing severe injuries to his abdominal area, including exposed intestines. He was rushed to Kariba Hospital via a Perican speedboat at 08:00 hours for emergency treatment.
As of the latest update, Mola had not received treatment yet, according to Lista Siabene, a 2-year resident of King's Camp.
The incident has sparked concerns among residents, who are urging game rangers to take immediate action to prevent further attacks. "Game rangers are not taking great actions on the needs of the people," said residents.
The community is demanding increased measures to ensure their safety and security in the area.
