Chitungwiza Road to Close for Sewer Works on January 17-18

The Chitungwiza Municipality has announced that Chitungwiza Road will be closed on January 17 and 18, 2026, to allow for the installation of new 600mm and 800mm Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes as part of the Zengeza Sewer Trunk Rehabilitation Project .

The road closure will affect the section of Chitungwiza Road where the sewer line crosses, between Madzibaba Simba's Shrine and the Unit J turn-off near the Zengeza Sewer Treatment Plant gate. Acting Town Clerk Japson Nemuseso has urged residents and motorists to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the works are completed smoothly and on time .

Nemuseso also advised motorists to use alternative routes during the closure period. The municipality apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public's understanding and support as they continue to improve public health and sanitation services in Chitungwiza .
