Plymouth Argyle defender Brendan Galloway is expected to be available for the crucial League One away game against Port Vale on Saturday, despite missing Zimbabwe's friendly international against Qatar on Monday due to a minor facial injury.
Galloway suffered the injury while playing for Zimbabwe in a 3-1 defeat to Algeria in a friendly international last Thursday in Saudi Arabia. He was substituted in the 84th minute, marking his seventh appearance for the Warriors.
Upon his return to Home Park from international duty, Galloway will undergo an assessment by Argyle's medical department later this week. The defender is likely to be included in Zimbabwe's squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco at the end of December, which may cause him to miss a few matches for Argyle over the Christmas and New Year period.
Zimbabwe, under newly-appointed head coach Mario Marinica, will play in Group B of the tournament, facing Egypt on December 22, South Africa on December 26, and Angola on December 29.
Meanwhile, Argyle are bottom of League One and didn't play at the weekend due to international call-ups. Port Vale, who are 22nd, moved up one position after a 0-0 draw at home to Wycombe Wanderers. Pilgrims' boss Tom Cleverley was in attendance at Vale Park, scouting Darren Moore's Valiants. The result has left Vale a point clear of Argyle, although they have played one more match.
