Mutare - The Magamba Vocational Training Centre in Mutare played host to a momentous occasion yesterday, as 2,264 young people graduated from various vocational training programs. The 2nd Manicaland Vocational Training Centres’ Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony was graced by Hon. Minister T. Machakaire, who emphasized the transformative power of vocational education in shaping futures and driving sustainable development.
In his address, Minister Machakaire highlighted the Ministry's efforts to increase accessibility to vocational training, including the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy, which aims to empower vulnerable and marginalized youth, including young mothers, to become self-reliant.
The Minister also announced that Vocational Training Centres in Manicaland Province are now accepting enrolments for courses starting in January 2026, providing opportunities for learners who may not possess traditional academic qualifications.
The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduates, who have acquired valuable skills in various fields, equipping them to contribute to Zimbabwe's development.
The event underscores the government's commitment to promoting vocational training as a vital component of the country's development strategy, focusing on innovation, digitalization and entrepreneurship.
