The countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has begun — but for fans hoping to witness the final in person, the price tag is steeper than ever before.

According to L'Équipe, ticket prices for the highly anticipated final have surged to unprecedented levels. Official prices now range from €1,747 to a staggering €5,484   a sharp jump from the €180 to €1,410 range seen at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Even group stage matches are seeing a price hike, starting at €52 compared to just €9 in the previous edition.

On the official resale platform, the situation is even more extreme. Final tickets are already listed between €6,887 and an eye-watering €43,046, raising concerns that average fans may be priced out of attending football’s biggest spectacle.

With the tournament set to be hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada, the 2026 edition promises to be the biggest yet  and for many, the most expensive.
